Childcare Subsidy Program

Legacy Health Endowment and Sunny Grove Preschool and Childcare in Turlock are partnering and launching a childcare subsidy pilot program that will cover 50 percent of childcare tuition for 20 local families. The goal of the pilot program is to assess and understand the impact it is having on a parent’s physical health, mental health, and economic health. Utilizing a team of researchers, participating parents will share their stories with the research team.

How it works:

After the interested families fill out the survey form (see below), we will select 20 families to participate in the subsidy program, based on the eligibility and the availaiblity of the program, for the first year. All participating families will be asked to collabrate with the researchers for 2 years. Ten (10) families (one child/family) will receive subsidy for the first 1 year, while the other 10 families (one child/family) receive the subsidy in the second year of the program. The children in the program will receive the same quality child care as all other children enrolled at Sunny Grove Preschool and Childcare in Turlock.

Eligibility:

Household income cannot exceed 500 percent of the federal poverty level(financial documents are required). Income Limits:
Individual: $6,520/month or $7,8240/year
Household of 2: $8,812.50/month or $105,750/year
Household of 3: $11,104.17/month or $133,250/year
Household of 4: $13,395.83/month or $160,749/year
Not receiving childcare subsidy from CAPP, Calworks or other programs
The mother of the enrolling child(ren) is working outside the home.
The mother will be asked to participate in the research program for consecutive 2 years.
